Meet The Face Behind HL Legal Services Professional Corporation

I’m Harpreet Luthra, the proud owner of HL Legal Services Professional Corporation.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I always had a passion for the legal process and the application of laws in day-to-day activities, so I started to work as a claim adjuster with a major insurance company. The role gave me an insight into laws connected with motor vehicles, accidents, and the Highway Traffic Act.

I also worked as a court interpreter, where I acquired hands-on experience about the functioning of courts and learned from leading lawyers during trials in serious matters.

Over the next three decades, these senior-level roles in government departments and the insurance industry in quasi-legal jobs strengthened my fondness for legal matters. However, I felt that a society could only thrive if justice was made available to all at an affordable price.

With this mission in mind, I decided to train as a paralegal. I became licensed by the erstwhile Law Society of Upper Canada, now Law Society of Ontario, in March 2008, along with the first batch of licensed paralegals.

Over the past twelve years, I’ve noticed that the industry has evolved and become more competitive. To keep pace with the extremely challenging environment, I stay up to date with the constant law changes, which allows me to represent my clients in a court or a tribunal.

I work hard for my clients, and as an individual, I believe what sets me apart from the others is that there is no beating around the bush, and I always give an honest answer to my client’s questions. Besides, I use my experience to pursue legal issues and cross-examine witnesses.

I also attribute my success to possessing an ability to communicate and put before a judge or adjudicator the argument that favors my clients convincingly. I may not win every case, but I ensure that my clients feel that I did the absolute best for them by doing thorough research.

Getting a positive result for a complicated matter fills me with immense satisfaction. The greatest reward is when I see the happiness and contentment on the face of a client after achieving justice.

When I am not assisting clients with legal issues, I love watching movies, especially the ones that deal with actual legal cases. I also like socializing with friends and spending time with my grandkids.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
